Hew details for Pipeworks' Godzilla Unleashed - Image 1

It's been some time since we posted updates on Godzilla Unleashed for the Nintendo Wii. Pipeworks Software Inc. has put some pretty interesting things in the game that every fan should definitely know about.

The game will have four factions: Earth Defenders, Alien Invaders, Mecha Saviors, and Mutant Menace. Each faction has its own role in the story, and the choices a player makes such as teaming up and choosing a faction will affect the story of their game. It's interesting to note that each monster will be grouped under one of the factions - we're assuming MechaGodzilla will be a part of the Mecha Saviors.

The buildings are fully destructible and it's been said that the damage modeling is more realistic than in the previous games. Someone up there must really like us, because they have finally implemented the option to view the destruction your monster of choice has caused after every level.

The controls of the game were implemented in such a way that you could have Godzilla doing multiple things at once. Here's an example given by Game Informer on this great addition:

Godzilla can now walk in one direction while attacking an enemy with his claws in another, fire a weapon at a different enemy and swing his tail at a third target, all at the same time. No wonder this guy is so good at destroying Tokyo.

Now that you've heard the good news, on to the bad. It has been announced by Game Informer that the game has no online multiplayer. Pipeworks is hoping to fix that before the release, so hopefully it'll be in the final version of the game.

Godzilla Unleashed is slated to be released by Atari within the year. We can't wait to get a chance to try out the new features of the game and go "Godzilla" all over some random city.
