Sex in Video Games Playboy: The Mansion. Leisure Suit Larry. The Singles. See any connections?

Actually, it is more than obvious than even people outside the gaming arena can't help but notice as well. The so-called sexual revolution unfolding in video games today has been put under scrutiny by various conservative groups including political watchdogs. The industry face now serious questions of self-regulation and rating systems.

Sex in Video Games BookTo actually understand this emerging trend, Brenda Brathwaite wrote a book dedicated to such pressing issues. Brathwaithe is no stranger to games as she was involved in the design and writing of Playboy: The Mansion, Wizardy 8 and even Dungeons and Dragons Heroes. The title of the book, Sex in Video Games, is simple, direct and appropriate.

Highlights of the book include a wide range of interviews with industry leaders and case studies on specific platforms. Other topics discussed include the ESRB Rating System and the history of games that feature sexual content on PC and console platforms.

Sex in Video Games costs $35.96 and is available online at the CourseTechnology link below.

those are "sex" games?

They are NOTHING compared to the sex in the games in Japan...of course they are censored...but still the western library is severely lacking in the sex category.

Is that a bad thing?

Don't think so...doesn't really matter.

its like porn. I think it'll just get "worse" or "better" whoever you are advocating..God or Satan. LOL

I’ll lecture some of you kids. You are playing games which feature s*x ? Games like... hmm... Dead or Alive extreme 2 or other worthless things mentioned here? I don’t even want to waste any more time here for writing this. I don’t even know what to say to those poor kids. Those girls in the games are fake girls, go and learn what real life is. This is one of the bad effects from playing games too much. If you are a poor thingy who’s categorized as frequent gamer or severer types... sigh... (Frequent gamer means you play games more than 1 hour a day; and you also play games 3 days or more a week).
