Rock Band Drum pedal - Image 1We've got an update on that news that broke out last week about the Kansas dude who's suing the companies behind Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii)v for allegedly having knowledge and profiting off of their defective drum pedals.

MTV Games spoke out about this issue and told EDGE that they do stand behind their products. Says a company rep,

Harmonix and MTV Games are dedicated to consumers having an outstanding experience with our products. When used as directed, our drum pedals are designed to provided years of enjoyment.

In addition, at the launch of Rock Band we offered consumers an extended opportunity return defective or broken hardware for any reason whatsoever--no questions asked. This litigation is opportunistic and baseless.

Plaintiff Monte Morgan is praying for damages, an order enjoining the defendants from alleged "wrongful conduct" as well as legal fees.

The drum pedals are crap. I modified mine to make it stronger so it wouldn't break again. I haven't tried the new ones.

» Just about everyone I know that has RB has had a broken pedal.

The extended warranty they gave was only for 90 days and most people had theirs break after the warranty was up. Plus all of the guitars from RB dont work right. My friends guitar stopped working while still under warranty and they sent him two new guitars which both stopped working right as well. Sometimes the overdrive wont work and they wont respond to every stroke like they should. I hope the RB2 quality is better.

Stop riverdancing on the drum pedals and they wont break. Its that simple. ive had mine for almost a year and it hasnt broken. And like they said, they'll replace it for free. My guitar's strum bar broke off (after i got pissed and punched it) and they sent me a brand new one, and im using it to this day.
