Wii Controller Classic - Image 1 Wii Controller Classic - Image 2 Wii Controller Classic - Image 3

Back at E3, someone managed to snag a few pictures of the Wii Classic Controller as well as the video that has already been posted on YouTube and shown throughout Wii-related sites. These new pictures, that were recently uploaded, offer a clearer view of the controller and its glossy look. Many have stated that there is a "mysterious" port at the back of the controller, yet I believe it is nothing more than an expansion slot to allow the classic controller to connect to the Wiimote. This may act as a snap on device just snaps in to the controller and on the back of the Wiimote. This way, you can get a round feel of the controller while using the motion sensing of the Wiimote. If you don't think this is true, feel free to speculate yourself with these pictures -

That controller is a real beauty!! I find it the best looking controller ever! But the new "boomerang" controller from Sony is also very beautiful...

To Combo #4

Sorry to break the news to you, but sony has scrapped the boomerang design in favour of the dual shock shape. It also features tilt and accellerometer sensors to detect movement (similar to Wii, but not as extensive), but the vibration feature has been removed. You're one of the first people I've known to prefer the boomerang shape over the dual shock shape. Personally I did too because I've always had hand cramp problems associated with the PS controllers.

everybody love boomerang

(little off topic srry) i loved the desing but why put a name to a control that dosnt have vibrating shock and come on everybody knows that the tilt feature will work better eith the boomerang

sweet pics

i only have two problems... 1)is that cord coming out of the bottom for security reasons, or is the virtual console controller not wireless like the wiimote (that would be rediculous) 2)attaching the wiimote to the back of the virtual console controller sounds a bit absurd, that would be an uncomfortable combination (unless it has multiplayer purposes, but i doubt that's the plan) over n out -styrofoam

Love it but...

Honestly this controller is uber-sweet, but Nintendo hasen't found a good place for the Z button since the N64, if that button besides R really is Z.

Look at the first picture

Look at the first picture (http://wii.qj.net/uploads/articles_module/60578/68e1e47fb96d4f68438be3993d0d.jpg). You might notice the Virtual Console display in the background. SNES Super Mario World N64 Super Mario 64 It isn't so evident what it says on the right side of the screen. It looks like it might say "MASTER SYSTEM".

Sonic Adventure...

...appears to be the name of the third game. You may be right about it saying "Master System" to the left of that.

The slots in the back.

I think the slot will only be to attach a second part to the controller, like the handles. You can attach a 3 legged handle à la N64, or a GCN type of handles. or it's only there coz they are for display and they usually attach these controllers to a metal shaft so they are not snatched.

"Sonic Adventure appears to be the name of the third game. You may be right about it saying "Master System" to the left of that." I thought so too, but Sonic Adventure was for Dreamcast and Gamecube, not Master System.

You're right

You're right, it did come out on Dreamcast. Well, I guess it's almost impossible from that angle to tell what the wording in blue says.

Oh noes...

That controller looks extremely uncomfortable. Without any handgrips it's gonna slip outta my hands during long gaming sessions like with my psp. And they put the screwed up the A and B buttons again! It's a real pain when you do that 'cuz some developers will make B confirm and A cancel, while others will do A confirm and B cancel, just like the SNES days. Plus the left joystick on the bottom makes it very uncomfortable and unnatural, like the PS2 controller. Why did Nintendo have to screw up like this? I hope they redesign it to be more like the GCN or XBOX controllers... Damn you, Nintendo.
