So we already know that Pokemon Battle Revolution will be having online functionality. But it doesn't hurt in the least bit to have additional information about it. Being the first Wi-Fied game for the Wii, a lot definitely is riding on the success of this pilot endeavor.

It's a first among a list of a couple of other firsts. Check this factoids out:
  • the first Wii game to include Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection play
  • the first Pokémon game for Wii
  • the first game to link Wii and the hand-held Nintendo DS
  • and the first Wii game that can be controlled using Nintendo DS
Interesting, eh? But let's zoom in on that third little bit regarding the Wii-DS connectivity. Basically, players can use their DS units as controllers, as well as import characters from the upcoming DS titles, Pokemon Diamond Version and Pokemon Pearl Version. Says good ol' Reggie of Nintendo of America, "with strong third-party support, Wii and Nintendo DS have games on the way for both casual and veteran gamers."

Pokemon Battle Revolution is set to be released on June 25 as a Wii-exclusive.

OK, can someone explain...

This is the first Nintendo WiFi game. Does this mean it's Nintendo's first Online game? That's how I read it at first but now I'm not so sure? July 25 before online seemed a long way away, but maybe there's going to be something sooner?

this game sucks

pokemon is not cool. the only interesting pokemon games since red and blue were snap, and stadium for the 64. and after a week these games became forgotten. i dont know about japan, but pokemon has become a joke, and should retire. after buying a wii i am offended that the best online nintendo has to offter so far is a crappy pokemon that no one cares about.

wi-fi

this maybe Nintendo first wii wi-fi game, but it's not nintendos first internet game, the super nintendo had an add-on that enabled people to connect to the internet and downlaod re-made levels of the original zelda and i think a few other games. plus pokemon on the outside may look like a kids game, but for anyone who actually digs deep and gets into playing the games, you'll soon find that there is a hell of a lot of maths you have to figure out to get the best team possible, and with a play time lasting longer than any Final Fantasy game, it's a good buy, worth every penny. oh and yes, Nintendo was the first games company to try online, but it was way to advance for it's time and failed, they tried again with the 64DD but again, people were not ready for it. So when people are ready for online gaming, they say that nintendo are slow of the mark, come on people, nintendo did this in the early 90s and no one liked it, make your minds up. If you want to look it up, it was called the BS system or super nintendo BS.
