Today we've got even more details regarding the Wii title MySims, thanks to Buttonbasher and the latest issue of Nintendo Power. Read on for the info.

Apparently, the "sparsely decorated house in a rundown town" that we mentioned in an earlier post is situated in the town where your grandparents live. That's pretty much the setup here: you move to the rundown town where your grandparents live in, and it's up to you to fix it up. The town will have a chef, florist, hair-dresser, mad scientist, and a magician, and you'll have to do a few errands for them in order to complete different goals.

It's actually a bit of a nod to the whole "Who are the people in your neighborhood?" song from Sesame Street. Hunicke said that the aforementioned song was definitely one inspiration for the team. "If you look at the characters in the game," said Hunicke, "they should inspire you to explore and find out who they are, discover who lives in your town."

The nunchuk is used for direct movement, and remote pointing will be used for object building. According to Buttonbasher poster KLind, building buildings in MySims sounds very similar to building with Legos. Players will be able to customize both the interior and exterior of buildings.

Regarding the departure from the more grown-up Sims design that players have grown accustomed to, game designer Robin Hunicke said that one of their considerations was the Wii console itself. "If we were making this for all the different next-gen consoles, it would have a very different look," said Hunicke. "We have a lot of reverence for what Nintendo stands for; their style of games and their approachability. ThatÂ’s how we ended up with these characters."
