Is Codemasters the Latest Publisher to Bail on the ESA? - Image 1We interrupt your regularly scheduled TGS updates for news on another gaming convention, E3.

No, it's not dead yet. But this new development won't help it recover any. News has come in that Codemasters has left the Entertainment Software Association, the organization behind E3.

Codemasters is the company behind Clive Barker's Jericho, the Colin McRae series, Overlord, and Lord of the Rings Online.

This makes the sixth publisher to leave the organization since May, adding to the ranks of Activision, Vivendi, LucasArts, id Software, and Crave. This is apparently only a recent development, as they were still a member of the ESA back at E3. Currently, the ESA's population of publishers stands at 22.

Shall we toll the death knell already? Now back to TGS!
