"It's not our goal to sell Mortal Kombat." This is what Geoff Mogilner of Midway told MTV Multiplayer in regards to the circulating assumption that the recent Chapter 11 filing of the game developer has the objective of selling the franchise off.

"It is something that, in the world of scenarios, it is something that could happen here. But it's not something that we as a company are going for," further explained the spokesperson. He did admit, however, that there are other publishers who have expressed their interest in MK.

Despite the rather long bumpy road the company has been traversing the past half year, the franchise team remains positive, and is in fact hard at work on another installment. The MK team is at work designing a new engine. We keep working."

No details were given out as to this new installment, but we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for that, and our fingers crossed for Midway Games.

they really should have let this series die young, DC universe was an all time low and a bigger insult to fighter games since street fighter EX

Die young? Please, it's a great series, and I will say this to everyone.. If you think DC universe was an all-time low, that's your opinion. It still sold pretty well, I enjoyed it, I hope they keep it. So what if they continue to release games that suck in your opinion? Don't buy them.. sit around and wait for one that's really good to come out

i so glad they didnt sale it.

next thing i know the buyer would FK the game up.

Just like Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot, great games till someone else got a hold of them.

I dunno, Midway's done a pretty good job of that with some of the later games.

MK vs DC was prob the best thing they could of done for the franchise! The games while not bad have been mediocre and uninnovative for years now and the DC game just brought it back into the lime light. Hope they can pull it from the dark some more and have it be a competing franchise with the likes of SF and SC.

» sorry

The best games go farther back than the PS1

Everything from the beginning with Pong up to/and the PS1/N64 had the best games.

With a few exceptions being utterly disastrous in nature to not being fun at all.
