Midway Games published yesterday its financial reports for Q3 2007. It was highlighted in that report that while the company has garnered a year-on-year rise, it also suffered some losses in its basic diluted shares. Midway closed the report by stating that it is lowering its revenue forecast for the coming quarter.Miguel Iribarren, Midway Games VP for Publishing, noted today that one of the main contributing factors to said losses is actually the delays in Nintendo's video game manufacturing plants. Some important Wii titles has been pushed back in Europe out of this fiscal year.
Take note that the delays are not due to the development process of software but lies in the company's Wii disc manufacturing pipeline. Iribarren explained, "The Wii has been a victim of its own success. The demand for Wii game products has put a pretty big strain on Nintendo's production capacity, and that has in turn, for us, turned into longer lead times for some of our Wii products."
The Midway Games official added that this is very crucial to both Nintendo and to them especially now that we are entering the holiday season "And that, during the holidays - given products coming out in a short timeframe - has resulted, for us, in reduced ability to get product to shelves," added Miguel Iribarren.
