Sad kidFor those who were banking on their pre-ordered Wiis at the Nintendo World Store, we got bad news for you. Unfortunately, the Ninty World Store rumor really turned out to be just a rumor.

So NOPE, the said store won't be holding a midnight launch party for the Wii. AND no, Nintendo of America head honcho Reggie Fils-Aime, WON'T be handing out the first Wii units at the Nintendo World Store as well.

But according to Nintendo Insider forums member Ombrenoir 17 (who posted the unhappy news), Reggie Fils-Aime will be handing out Wii units at Toys "R" Us instead.

And since the said store will be holding a midnight launch party of its own, we're guessing that Fils-Aime will hand out the first Wii consoles there. So if you still want to par-tee, you might want to go there instead. It's still located in NYC, anyway (Times Square in Manhattan, to be exact).

I don't understand why they would hold it at Toys R Us in NYC and not the World Store!!! The world store makes total sense (it's the friggin nintendo world store!) and is a great location in at rock square....times square will be miserable...oh well I guess I'll be in times square on the night of the 16th.
