Michael Pachter forecasts three to four million Wii Fit Americans this year - Image 1Having sold over one million units in Japan during its first week, Nintendo's Wii Fit is definitely a force to be reckoned with. It's definitely one simulation that has achieved a great feat.

With this kind of reputation,
Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter feels that this fitness craze will be taking over soon in North America, once it hits western shelves. According to his forecast, the fitness simulation title will be able to sell a massive amount of units this year.

Executives have also told Pachter that when the game launches on May 19, 2008, it will be receiving one of the largest marketing launches in the company's history - having a budget of US$ 40 million. With this, Pachter said, "Wii Fit will sell 3 million to 4 million in the US if they market aggressively."

If ever it becomes successful, this particular title will be able to top sales this year, alongside fantastic sales of Microsoft's Halo, Nintendo's Wii Play, and Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) last yea. Well, we'll just have to wait and see how this game will fare in the coming months. We'll keep you guys posted for more updates.

» That's a lot of bath scales

Maybe if Nintendo fakes a shortage of that, it will be popular. Faking shortages is all the rage these days and makes everything more popular.

» What a stupid idea for a game.

Seriously, you're going to get in shape by standing on a board and rocking side-to-side?

Utter nonsense.

» boy oh boy

So why be so f"n negative you prick freeplay and to mister sense yeah if nintendo really is doing that with the wiis why should YOU care? is it affecting you? » lol.....

I find it funny how Mister Nonsense is pinning eveything on the so called "OMFG THE WII IS ONLY DOING SO WELL BECAUSE NINTENDO ARE HOLDING BACK STOCK"

Anyway I cant knock it untill iv tryed it, but considering how health aware people are these days i wouldnt be suprised it if sells that many...

by ISOHaven - 2008-04-02 08:18
» WTF!?!?!?!?!

I've always wanted to try Yoga. If they make a game/app that does that then I'm game for it.

Typical that Mr. Nonsense is here once again complaining like a child. No suprise that freeplay is right "BEHIND" him... nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

FACT, it's already popular and nintendo claims no shortages. So once again Mr. Nonsense is found talking out his rear end again.

1 MILLION in 1 week? Holy Crap!!!

» add me to the stat

I'll buy one and the ski game as soon as it is available... it is just not coming fast enough =P

You of all people should know wii fit comes with yoga minigames. Not very good since all the exercises require the bath scale, but technically yoga.

» get on the Nintendo accesory buying bandwagon! Everyone's doing it!

Yes this really is the stupidest thing Nintendo ever came up with. Much worse than all their other commercial failures like the Virtual Boy, ROB, Game Boy Micro, etc.

Only a company like Nintendo could convince people (with lowered standards because of the Wii) that standing is fun and it's only possible with their overpriced and overhyped bath scale!

Don't worry, I'm sure it will sell well. Like I've always said, Nintendo can sell anything, cheap plastic wheels for $15, console using 8 year old technology for $250, and a cheap plastic "zapper" that only holds a controller for $20.

Also don't forget Wii S*it, the interactive s*itting game controller for $130. Since Nintendo knows whatever they make and no matter how useless it is it will sell, the possibilities are endless!

by Mister Common Sense - 2008-04-03 02:33
» .

Let me guess, you also have the Zapper, every 1st party game (all 3 of them,) and have pre-ordered the Wii wheel as well.

You'd think Nintendo would reward their loyal fans with some decent games, but that's Nintendo! If the crap sells, don't change a thing. That's why nearly all the Gamecube games were better. Nintendo was trying.

by The Obsidian - 2008-04-03 03:09
» Theyre trying now!!!

my god your so ignorant wow super smash bros brawl(because i dont even care to name all the other amazing games) Was SUCH a huge deal lets see.....just over 30 different composers came together to create music for it thats just the music and then theres all of the different 2nd party and even 3rd party developers that came to work on it........nintendo has more profits than ever and i for one am very glad actually its let them create such a huge Project such as brawl and Mario galaxy and then theres future games. Its funny you so wish you had ANY idea what your ever talking about. XD

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

"Yes this really is the stupidest thing Nintendo ever came up with."

Ok, we have to give you that. That's your opinion. However as you well know, less then 1% of QJ members actually care about your opinion. Especially since most of them are derived from pure ignorance and stupidity.

"Only a company like Nintendo could convince people.......that standing is fun"

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !!!! What an idiot you are.

"Don't worry, I'm sure it will sell well."

Oh gee, is that another prediction of yours? Seeing as how over 1 million sold in the first week of it's release are you really sure it will do well? Oops, TO LATE!!!

"and a cheap plastic "zapper" that only holds a controller for $20."

I just LOVE IT when you are WRONG!!!! And it happens so often!

For $20 it holds a controller AND a nunchuk AND it comes with a game. Try again jerky!!!!

"Also don't forget Wii S*it, the interactive s*itting game controller for $130."

Thanks for proving us all right! You fail as always.

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

@lavino

Do you have any info on the ski game?

by Mister Common Sense - 2008-04-03 04:59
» .

People that are overly concerned about health always buy crap to make them skinny, as long as it doesn't require diet and exercise.

Just look how many diet pills sell every year that don't work, or how much [real] exercise equipment never gets used.

Since it has the clever (although deceiving) name of Wii Fit, plenty of idiots will buy it thinking it's an easy and/or fun way to get in shape. That's what you call Nintendo's new market, gullible idiots.

by Mister Common Sense - 2008-04-03 05:35
» something I heard

The bath scale attachment only works in single player mode.

"Just look how many diet pills sell every year that don't work, or how much [real] exercise equipment never gets used."

It sounds like someone is experiencing buyers remorse! Hahaha!!!!

"plenty of idiots will buy it thinking it's an easy and/or fun way to get in shape."

1. Just another dumb opinion.

2. Let's pretend for a moment that this was 100% true.....SO WHAT?

Have you "figured it out" yet?

by Mister Common Sense - 2008-04-07 08:55
» you must feel special or something

"Only a company like Nintendo could convince people.......that standing is fun"

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !!!! What an idiot you are."

Good comeback slick, but you know the bigger idiot is somebody that actually has fun standing on their pricey accessories because Nintendo said it's fun.

by ISOHaven - 2008-04-07 09:39
» WTF!?!?!?!?!

"Good comeback slick"

That wasn't a "comeback" it was FACT.

"the bigger idiot is somebody that actually has fun standing on their pricey accessories because Nintendo said it's fun."

Your reasoning is about as childish as it gets. Even my referring to what you say most of the time as "reasoning" is a stretch of my own imagination.
