Merrill Lynch: A third of Japanese/US homes to have Wiis by 2011 |

Ó
We don't know about you, but basing from our earlier reports, it seems that Merrill Lynch tends to be a flip-flopper when they are talking about next-gen consoles. First, they said that the PS3 is gonna be a financial disaster for Sony; then they shift gears and said that the PS3 and Xbox 360 will win, but the Wii will fail. What gives? Now, Yoshiyuki Kinoshita a Merrill Lynch analyst, predicts that by the year 2011, a third of all Japanese households and almost 30% of all US homes will own a Wii.
This is so because the Xbox 360 has struggled to make its presence felt in Japan. It was mentioned in an Enterbrain research that Nintendo took 68% market share in Japan, with the PS3 taking 25% and the Xbox 360 with 7%. As for the U.S., the recent NPD finding shows that the Wii is leading the sales with 436,000 sold units.
Some analysts believe that even if the console war is still in its infancy, the position established by the Wii could ensure its supremacy for several years. On the other hand, there are other analysts who believe that the initial appeal of the Wii would quickly wear off, and in the long run, computing power would be the key to win the console war.
With that, we actually do not have an idea where Merrill Lynch stands. To recap, they first said that the PS3 will fail, then they said the Wii will fail, now they are saying that the Wii would be a staple in Japanese and U.S. homes come 2011. We can't wait what they'll say next. For now, feel free to give us your take about this development.

Your $50 dollars is paid back from all the FREE multiplayer and single player demo games that you can download and try before you buy rather than buying an official mag to get them which would cost you far more over the year and that is without all the other benefits of XBL hows your headset on the PS3 WHAT you have not got that on PS3? multitasking NO etc etc. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR when using the internet.
If One game has decided that you invest all that money thats your choice and I hope for your sake the game dosent turn out to be a duff as a lot of sequels are especially on an unproven machine with this type of game.
Yet again another game on the PS3 is showing slowdown, before it was games like COD3 which on the 360 run smooth but on PS3 framerates dropped and slowdown occured and now this time even a relativly simple game like FLOW

graphics scored 7.0
Artistic design is fantastic, but there's not a whole lot going on. Surprisingly though, there is some slow-down from time to time.
Hope your Final Fantasy dosent suffer the same problems.

Just Give the PS3 time, and it might do well. Nobody liked the 360 when that first was released and that sold the least out of the 3 consoles in its first two months on the market. The PS3 need time to mature and let devlopers tap into its potential.
