May 19 or May 21? Confusion hits Wii Fit's U.S. launch |
Ó
Wii Fit's U.S. debut yesterday was marred by confusion, thanks in no small part to conflicting information about the game's actual launch date. This according to GameSpot.A last minute announcement from Nintendo confirmed that the game's launch was indeed on the 19th, but it only applied to the Nintendo World Store in New York City. A lucky few managed to get copies of the game there, where it sold out in under an hour.
People who pre-ordered from other retailers were also met with disappointing news: they have to wait until tomorrow, May 21, to get their Wii Fit copies. Apparently, some retailers have already had the game in stock for a couple of weeks but have been told not to sell any copies until the 21st.
GameSpot contacted Nintendo for comments regarding the confusion as well as possible shortages but the company has not yet replied.

So what if it takes a couple extra days to find out Wii fit is an overhyped and useless ripoff? They deserve to be ripped off for pre-ordering.
Do yourself a favor, do REAL exercise and buy a REAL bath scale to measure your progress. You can even look online for BMI calculators if you really need to know. The only thing this effective low cost alternative cannot give you is the pointless minigames the Wii is so famous for.
You heard him everyone!!!! DEATH TO CHOICE!!!!
No one should be allowed to CHOOSE!!!!
Do what he says or you are RETARDED (Yes, those are HIS words, I have TONS of links)!!!!
Americans have NO RIGHT to choose what they want in their home. Americans have NO RIGHT to decide for themselves. After all YOU ALL have little boys like Mr. Common Douche Bag to make your decisions FOR YOU!!!!

A couple days? Get your FACTS straight. The Wii Fit has been out for a WHILE NOW and so far, the consensus disagrees with you.
Just more BS from the BS master Mr. Common Douche Bag!!!!
I just had to log in and say that MCS is an awesome troll! Dude! Keep trolling these stupid fanboys! Their fanboy reactions to your comments are so freaking hilarious that makes me cry from laughter. Never give up! You rule buddy!
@ Homer89: You're calling the people that prove Mister Common Sense wrong fanboys? Do you even read his ridiculous posts?

Why do all that if you can, if you want to, buy Wii Fit that does it all for you?
As for the "pointless minigames", they are only as pointless as you make them. Do you think that just because they are smaller, they have no point? What about someone that spends hours on Wii Fit or another 'casual' branded game? Are they wasting their time any more than someone that 100 per cent completes a GTA or Final Fantasy game?
