Mark Rein: Legendary Pictures to acquire Epic Games is just rumor

Mark Rein has dismissed the rumor that Legendary Pictures is looking to acquire Epic Games as "just another rumor."

Whew. I thought I was looking at a whole new generation of bad video game movie adaptations.

What's with all these companies rumored to buy Epic? At the start of the year, rumors said that Microsoft was interested, than it was just earlier this month when rumors started saying it was Electronic Arts.

Is the studio just under the spotlight with Gears of War 2 on the way, or is there really a studio out there eyeing to acquire it and rumors just haven't pinned down which one it is yet?

Seriously, this wasn't even remotely newsworthy. I'm sure we'll see rumors of Acclaim buying Epic next.
