Super Mario Galaxy

It seems that new Wii owners would have to make do without one of Mario's adventure until Christmas 2007. Why? In an MTV interview, Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime divulged that North American gamers can expect Super Mario Galaxy to hit store shelves between the end of March 2007 and Christmas 2007. Now that's a long wait, but still, you have a lot of other Wii games that'll amuse you.

The much anticipated title (the third most anticipated Wii game according to Gamefly) was set to be a launch title, but somewhere along the way, plans changed. But with that bit of a bad news comes good ones. Reggie also mentioned that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will apparently arrive with the next batch of big releases following WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Wii Play in January, and Mario Party 8 in March.

No Mario Galaxy until next Christmas, well, we hope not. Things are just not the same without that plumber in a red jumpsuit.

» Boooo!

I would have thought Nintendo would have learned from the mistakes of the gamecube launch, and had at least on mario title from day one. If they are trying to reach out to lapsed gamers and non-gamers, why arent they making use of one of the most well known, and loved, characters in their arsenal, possibly the most well known videogame character of all time, in fact.

» Better then the mistakes of the N64 Launch

20-odd titles w/out mario > 2 titles w/ mario

» Well its not a massive shame

I love mario...But at the end of the day we have alot more other titles that are just as good so I guess we can wait lol

At the end of the day reggie is covering himself...He dont know when its gonna be done...

We could see it sooner than we think and it could be out just after march...

Lets wait and see before we start flipping out lol

Shouldn't matter... the Wii probably won't have caught on until then.

» stuff

I won't mind waiting if they're making sure the game is really awesome. I'd rather a game get delayed to fix all the bugs and stuff.

odd when Luigi's Mansion would have been an excellent launch title for a change,no followup is mentioned...

i'm happy to wait on the next Mario game, look at his former rivals like Sonic...

although i see no big Xmas 2007 Wii game but i do see Pokemon DS games slated for that time period...

so nintendo is still singing the same song.
