Marcan called out by Brakken, leaves the Wii homebrew scene |

This is where the scene currently stands. Brakken has posted a commentary on Marcan at the TehSkeen site, basically calling him out on his "God complex" and his hand on driving [nuke] out of the scene. He also delved into what seems to be a broiling drama between Marcan and Waninkoko, with Brakken taking Waninkoko's side.
A few of the pertinent paragraphs from the commentary in question:
TehSkeen and I arenÂ’t the only ones that have come under attack from Marcan and his minions. He has successfully purged [nuke]; the creator of one of the most advanced coding and hacking tools, the USB Gecko from the scene. He did this by not compromising with [nuke] over private matters that do not need to be discussed in a public forum. Needless to say, after the way Marcan treated [nuke] he left the scene. Way to go Marcan!
So, youÂ’ve read this far and might be wondering what are my motivations at writing this? Well, itÂ’s over recent events concerning blog posts Marcan has made attacking another very talented and well respected developer Waninkoko. Waninkoko is one of the people who have used the open source or freely available code and information Marcan has helped contribute to the scene for purposes Marcan doesnÂ’t like.
In response to this, Marcan posted in the very same thread the commentary was made and gave his piece.
I did not drive nuke out of the "scene"; his reasons for leaving were based on his own personal guesses, beliefs, and extrapolations about some of my ideas, and at no time did he ask for a proper explanation or allow me any sort of clarification or explanation. I do not specifically blame him for this action, because there's more to the story than this, but the other parts are none of your business. He made his own story up and then left because of it.
This kind of crap and drama, however, sure has driven me out of the "scene". Brakken, congratulations, you have succeeded in providing the last drop. I will not attempt to refute any other of the claims made on this thread, because doing so would be completely and utterly futile given that the majority of the people involved will obviously do anything and believe anything that makes me wrong or the "bad guy"; besides, we've been over all this stuff many times now, so if someone wants to investigate the "scene", they can, and they can come to their own conclusions. I'll skip a long rant about brakken and just say that brakken's journalism isn't even remotely close to rigorous.
Suffice it to say, I've had enough, I'm out, and I will not be coming back. Happy easter.
It's sad when a community has to lose talented developers because of misunderstandings amongst each other. If there's anything good that may come out of this experience, we hope it be that the Wii homebrew scene develops that sense of real community, recognizing the worth and appreciating the contribution of each other.
It's such a small world as it is.

Well i dont think ill take either side here because they both have good points. brakken loves to rave (lol thus he runs a %u201Cscene%u201D site) and marcan does indeed have a %u201Cholier than thou%u201D attitude problem. i think they both made mistakes and neither one of them should be this silly about things. the scene is about community and this is exactly what brakken and marcan are not enforcing. keep private matters private and dont argue out in the open unless you want attention.
