Major League Eating The Game - Image 1Mastiff Games has big plans for food these days. They're making virtual hotdogs and bringing the athletes of the eating world onto the Wii with Major League Eating: The Game. The game will feature virtual athletes vying for glory in speed and endurance eating competitions, minus the real-world food, of course.

Notes Bill Swartz of Mastiff Games,

Watching Major League Eating is like watching poetry in motion. Professional gurgitators have the grace of ballerinas yet the brute strength, mental focus, and intestinal fortitude to push their bodies and minds as hard as athletes in any other extreme endurance sport. Victory is sweet and defeat can be well, really, really messy. It's an experience we're proud to help bring into the home.

The game, their press release notes, makes good use of the Wiimote to simulate the act of eating. MLE: The Game also allows players to master the use of offensive and defensive weapons, such as "bites, burps, belches, mustard gas and jalapeño flames while cramming and chewing food at a world-class pace."

The game is set to be released on May 12 along with the WiiWare service, though a price has yet to be revealed for the game.
