We can go ahead and tell you how Madden NFL 07 for the Wii will have enhanced gesture-based controls; new gameplay modes; like multiplayer centric mini-games. Or that EA pulled every stop to make compelling graphics for Nintendo's new generation console. But most probably you already know all that. For game information, we're thinking more on the lines of controls.

This in-depth interview by IGN with Jason Armenise, producer for the upcoming Wii title, Madden NFL 07, covers everything from how to pass the football to the FreeMotion system and much more. Just to give you a taste of how the interview went, here are a couple of topics they touched on.

First on the list - "Wiimote fatigue." It is one of the biggest hurdles Nintendo and makers of Madden NHL 07 has to go over in order to make converts out of couch potato gamers. Armenise, assures that you don't have to be in football jock mode all the time in order to play the game. "At first, when you're showing your friends how to play, you're going to say, 'Hey, you throw just like this!' Right? But once you've played for a couple hours, you're going to be like, 'Wow, this is kind of tiring.' I refer to it as the couch potato syndrome. People want to play relaxed, and so all of our controls can be done with very small movements, too."

Then of course there's the rumble feature. Everybody's wondering if it is associated with the FreeMotion feature, but he says it's not specifically tied to the system. But when you get hit, it'll rumble alright. Since we're already on the subject of the FreeMotion system, he also went into specifics on how to use of the controller along with the system to make a successful play.

The rest of the interview is available via the read link and include detailed instructions on hiking, running, defense, and gameplay modes.

So when asked about the graphics on the Wii he had this to say

"It's definitely a much better looking game than on GameCube and we think that it really is challenging Xbox 360 in some places. "

Plus the game controls on this one seem wicked. The only people who wouldn't play this game are people who are afraid they'll accually get beat in a game of madden
