Lottay survey: there is twice as much demand for Wii than PS3 and Xbox 360 combined

Lottay recently surveyed up to see what folks want for Christmas and they got quite a few interesting results - topping their respondents' wishlists are: love, travel, cash gifts, and the Nintendo Wii. It seems that Wii love hasn't waned just yet, with twice as many people want a Wii over the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined.

The survey asked each respondent what they wanted for Christmas based on a few categories - products, non-products, sorted by gender. With 62% of the respondents indicating that they want a Wii, Nintendo's motion control cash cow was found to be the most wanted product for the holidays - above iPods, cameras, shoes, and its two rival consoles.

They want love, world peace and the occasional mani-pedi."

Notable survey results, as reported by CinemaBlend:

Top product wishes Â– Nintendo Wii, Wii games and accessories. The Wii and Wii-related gear are wished for twice as much as Sony and Xbox 360 combined.
Runner-up product wishes Â– iPods, followed by cameras and boots. UggÂ’s are the most popular shoe that is specifically named in wishes.
Top experience wishes Â– Travel to France, Disneyland and Las Vegas.
Runner-up experience wishes Â– Cash for use towards shopping, the holidays or hobbies. Massages came in third, and 2.5 percent of wishers want puppies.
Top wishes (women) Â– Cash as a gift, Nintendo Wii, travel and vacations, massage, iPod, boots.
Top wishes (men) Â– Travel, cash as a gift, love and sky diving (tied), iPod, Nintendo Wii, a car.
Oddest wishes Â– A cow, a monkey, a hookah, SatanÂ—all of which were given one time, each. Surprisingly, Satan only cost $200, according to the person who gave him.

That's an awfully high percentage of people who want a Wii.

I went to the site, looks fairly oriented towards younger kids, which would explain the huge number of people wanting Wii's, but:

"Well, the Lottay survey reveals that DSi and PS3s aren’t all that loved among adult men and women as much as the Nintendo Wii and its accessories."

This quote seems to debunk the "lots of kids" theory. Really wish there was more information.

obviously its only the stay at home mothers, tasteless kids and Luddite fathers with no concept of the current gaming market who have time to fill in these surveys.

If you know all the relevant data pertaining to the people responding, a survey isn't rubbish. Such as age, average income, and others.

I'll agree that without those extra points of data though, it's pretty much useless in defining "facts." The only "fact" I can get from this is that a majority of people who use Lottay want a Wii, and that's it.
