Lightsaber action Wii style in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga - Image 1Remember when we told you guys that LucasArts was already developing a lightsaber game on the Wii? Well, apparently that game is Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Yup, unlike previous iterations of the Lego Star Wars games, this one has it all, and quite a few extras to boot.

The news everyone has been waiting for is the lightsaber controls. The implementation of the new controls by the Complete Saga team had them setting a layer of motion-sensing controls over the primary set.

In other words, you can play the game like you normally played older Lego Star Wars Games. However, if you perform additional Wii movements, then your character's moves become more efficient.

Using the Wiimote to swing your lightsaber is pretty much implemented the way most people would expect. Shake the Wiimote and you character will be swinging multiple times; press the jump button and swing to perform a slam or super slam attack.

The guys from Gamespy who got first crack at the game, noted that swinging the lightsaber through the Wii Remote is a bit faster than just pressing the trigger and the effects generate were more powerful.

So is this the future of Star Wars gaming? We certainly hope so. Star Wars fanatics who have always dreamed of swinging a lightsaber now have a very compelling reason to pick up the Wii.

» Unexpectedly cheap

Not at all like I would expect, 1 on 1 lightsaber control is what I would expect...

Who will be the 1st to do this already?

» Oh no, smells like Zelda

So another pseudo motion-sensitive sword game? Weren't Zelda's controls bad enough?

I want the character to do what I do with the remote, not some stupid "shake to swing" control.

Totally agree with Kirl. And indeed, no one expects it to be like that.

That is definately a game I won't be wasting my money on.

a FPS style star wars game is whats needed with proper light saber control as you would swing a sword. the game should mimic that in the game. i think thats what ppl want.
