Latest PC Shuttle case looks like... a Wii?

Shuttle XPC x100We all know that Nintendo's next-gen console, the Wii, is nothing less than inspiring, but in the avenue of the inspired, perhaps this might be the one which we would personally save up for. So, without much further ado, we introduce to you the Shuttle XPC System which features its latest X series.

So what's so nifty about this particular Shuttle case? Well, as we can see from the images that we have here, the X Series looks just Wii-fied to us. Not that it's a bad thing, really, especially since Shuttle was able to make their already-compact cases even MORE compact and a lot sleeker by basing their latest design on the case of the tiny Nintendo Wii.

According to the product page, "The X Series delivers plenty of wows with its small-form factor. It’s barely the size of a sheet of paper and only 2” tall. A welcome change of pace from the traditional tower computers, the X Series combines big-time performance with its aesthetic appeal."

Don't start underestimating this little guy just yet, though, as it packs quite a punch. Armed with an Intel Celeron M 1.6GHZ processor, 512MB of RAM, an 80GB HDD, and an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 MXM Interface video card, this system is actually a whole lot more powerful than the console it was based on, so yes, you can play WoW and other games with demanding graphics requirements. Also, unlike the console which it takes it looks from, it will cost you at least US$ 799.00 to take this baby home, and US$ 999.00 if you want it to come with 1GB worth of RAM and 250GB worth of disk space. Ouch.

Their SFF PCs are Panasonic Q rip-offs. They have been stealing ideas fom the big N for years.

sorry but a 1.6ghz celeron with 512mb of memory is not packing a punch, its even weaker then the clearance sale pc's u get at walmart lol. qj needs to get some writers that actually know what is considered "packing a punch" these days. wow isnt a demanding game, ide like to see them play oblivion on an x1400.

# Compared to sizeGuest 2006-12-01 13:56
Compared to the size of normal PC towers, that is a lot of punch. It makes it much more portable/placeable for a small desk and I don't think they're aiming at hardcore gamers with this one. It places itself somewhere between a laptop and a regular desktop compy. Imagine a laptop that cheap or a handheld game system that powerful.

# GHz Don't mean everything.Guest 2006-12-01 15:49
Kids, GHz and big numbers don't mean alot in the 'computing' world. Sure it does to some extent but big numbers may not mean big performance. For example, if you do your research, the PS3's processing power compared to a desktop processor is miniscule.

First off you can get it with a Intel Core Duo 2 which is vastly powerfull. It comes with a ATI x series card which are still some of the newest and best cards out there becides the new geforce line. Also you can get it with up to 2Gb of ram. This thing can get extremly beastly and is still realitivly inexpensive. its only about $300 more but for the size and the style its worth it. I'm now offically saving for it.

First of all, i play oblivion on an ATI x600 256 gfx card, so that one could definitly push it.

Also, say as an exmple, the PSP handheld, which max's out at 333mhz, is NOT the same as a pc's 333mhz always. game console STATS and pc STATS are way different then each other. especially the graphics cards.

This pc could push games 95% of CONSOLES out cant.

Suckas.
