While the name of the game for U.S. gamers have changed, the charm of the sport doesn't change as Konami releases a couple of new gameplay videos featuring all the hardcore soccer action in Winning Eleven: Playmaker 2008 (a.k.a. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008) for the Wii.

The two new videos focus on the play making aspects of the game. After all, a game wouldn't be subtitled "Playmaker" without a good reason. Fortunately, calling out all those plays should come naturally thanks to the Wiimote's motion sensitive controls.

While the videos are based on the Japanese version of the game, the fast-paced action any soccer sim delivers goes beyond any spoken word. Winning Eleven: Playmaker 2008 makes its way to Japan this month for the PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, and DS.

Anyway, enough talk. Just sit back and enjoy the two videos we have from the game below.

Thats cool

Great way to re-invent the game for a new controller. I like what they have done. Wonder if it will convert soccer/football fans to the wii that wouldn't have otherwise bought it.

interesting concept

It definitely beats the old idea of your conventional soccer sims. I wonder if they can make the same concept work for other sports sims like american football or baseball.
