Koji Igarashi: negative Castlevania Judgment response 'unjustified' |

Koji Igarashi, the current producer of the Castlevania series, recently spoke about the mixed reactions Castlevania Judgment has been getting. He pointed out that while he was expecting negative reactions from the gaming community, he still feels that the reaction was "unjustified."In an interview with MTV Multiplayer, he noted that when you have an established franchise known for a certain style of gameplay, any drastic change would be looked upon unfavorably.
However, he added that the response of the community was unjustified because they are basing their *ahem* judgment on "just hearing about it or maybe seeing a couple of screen shots and making a whole assumption."
As a gamer, I know how passionately a person will defend a video game series he or she loves. If someone were to change the core gameplay of that specific game, it is understandable how die-hard fans would respond quite negatively to it.
However, Igarashi does make a solid point. Let's not knock Castlevania Judgement (too hard at least) till we try it. Besides, I think that we can trust the guy with this considering the great work he's done on the series since Symphony of the Night.

BS! I base my opinion on VIDEO that I've seen and the fact that I hate these types of games.
That's about as justified as it gets. I will not purchase this game.

I don't think so. I always try reserve my opinions of a game until I see it in action. Now I have seen Judgment in action and believe I have a fair and valid concept of what this game is. It's a fighter, nothing more.
I was expecting another adventure, like Lament of Innocence. This would have made a lot more sense, especially with a tie in to OoE.
In my opinion, fighters are boring. There always have an insane list of maneuvers to memorize that I don't have time to learn or patience to practice. I always end up button mashing the game into submission which is stressful and not fun for me. At the end of it all, story takes a back seat to raw violence.
I wouldn't care if it had an "Adventure Mode" like Soul Caliber, it isn't an adventure unless I actually get to explore something rather than go through a series of fights with text in between.
I will reserve my final judgment for when I see anything else this title has to offer, but at this point I'm not keeping my hops up or holding my breath. Unless there's a real adventure aspect to this game, I'm not wasting my time or money on it.

But to go on topic, I got to play this at E3, and honestly from the demo that was presented, it is a pretty weak title. I hope that before it's released it changes.

HAHAHA!!! Whatever you say douche bag!
"An opinion can be neither true or false."
Oh man! I already slamed you into the ground months ago with this. You forgot already? That brain of yours doesn't doesn't retain information for very long does it?
My opinion is that the 360 is outselling the Wii.
Looks like you are wrong! An opinion CAN BE false. In fact, any time an opinion can be deemed as false, through facts, you discover it's not an opinion at all.
"Despite what little you can learn from a video, if you hate fighting games, why would your opinion matter for a fighting game?"
Well DUH you idiot. My opinion matters as to whether or not I would pay money for something. What part of that do you not understand?
"Therefore, your criticsm of the game is unjustified because they could not possibly make a Castlevania fighting game YOU would like."
I never gave a review of the game you jack-ass. I said I would HATE the game based on what I've seen. This entire article is about people making a final desision of the game too early. Here you have plenty of people saying it's NOT too early.
Do you "get it" yet?
"Don't like Wii games? You can admit it. They suck."
You fail.
