Koei introduces original RPG game, Opoona |

Ó
Opoona, the hero of the game with the same name, is a descendant of the gallant Cosmo Guards. He and his family visits a world that looks similar to Earth, but is known as Landroll. After an incident separates him from his family, he discovers that his parents are seriously wounded and his siblings are nowhere in sight. It's up to you to bring the young Cosmo Guard to the bottom of it all, and scour the cosmos for your brother Kopoona and sister Poreena and defeating the baddie Dakurogu.
All the while, the player will be freelancing for jobs to finance your search and investigation across the known colonies. Players will be able to choose jobs that range from rescue to investigative work. But the story unfolds in a uniquely zany world brought about by cel-shaded graphics and colorful sceneries - courtesy of art director Shintaro Majima - while accompanied by memorable scores from Sachiko Sugimura, known for her works on Final Fantasy XII.
Like we've covered before, the game will be sporting the controls from the Nunchuck attachment, but there are no news about the Wiimote. The combat mechanics make use of a projectile-based hurling, which Koei dubs as "Active Bombom Battle." Projectiles are launched through a snapping motion of the wrist, and the nunchuck could be used to guide the "Bombom" or ("Energy candy") to it's target, adding a little twist of strategy.
We'll be keeping an eye on more developments on this title. For the meantime, check out the live screen captures below, courtesy of Famitsu while covering the said event.
