King Dedede from Kirby joins Super Smash Bros. Brawl roster - Image 1Don't look now, but it's another penguin-like character invading Nintendo's highly anticipated fighting game series! If you're a fan of the Kirby franchise, you might recognize this guy as the self-proclaimed King of Dream Land and Kirby's some time adversary, King Dedede.

This penguin-like creature will be joining the already formidable roster of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. King Dedede was first introduced as Kirby's first arch-enemy in Kirby's Dream Land. Since then, he's been a staple character in practically every Kirby video game made, sometimes even teaming up with him on occasion.

Friend or foe, whatever the case may be, he's here to duke it out with the other fighters in brawling frenzy of a game. From the looks of things, King Dedede falls into the heavyweight class of characters similar to the likes of Bowser and the Big D (Donkey Kong).

However, he perfectly rounds out the members of the existing team Kirby, providing the much needed muscle between Meta Knight's fast and furious attacks and Kirby's... uh, cuteness. Carrying his trademark wooden mallet, everyone can expect to see King Dedede and the rest of the crew from Super Smash Bros. Brawl this coming February 10 when the game finally hits stores.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the screenshots we have of this larger-than-life anthropomorphic penguin.
