Aerosmith fans who attended the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (by Activision for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC) release party at the flagship GameStop New York City store yesterday were able to rock with Aerosmith's legendary guitarist Joe Perry. Perry, who participated as a judge in the event's face-off tournament also signed copies of the game as well as game controllers.
GameStop sees the event as a chance to further serve their main market base, the gamers. Tom DaNapoli, GameStop's vice president for marketing explained:
We were thrilled to be part of the launch of one of the seasonÂ’s hottest and most anticipated games and to provide an opportunity for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Aerosmith fans to jam with Joe. At GameStop, we strive to bring power to the players through events like this that allow gamers to pursue their fantasies.
And they did bring power to the gamers, if we do say so ourselves. We certainly wouldn't mind more epic celebrity appearances in other gaming events.
