Japanese devs delighted with Sony motion control because of Wii games port possibility?

PSWiimote - Image 1Don't look now, but it just might be possible for us to see Wii games ported to the PS3 - if Japanese developers are to have their way, and thanks to Sony's motion controller. Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi (of Resident Evil 5 fame) divulged this information in an interview with 1Up, leading up to the TGS.

Said Takeuchi-san, "Speaking to other developers in Japan, I've heard a few of them say they were delighted by the Sony motion controller because they can just port over their Wii titles to the PS3." We would just rather presume, of course, that if and when they do port their wares from the Wii to the PS3, they'll brush it up real nice.

And so we are here, nearing the day when we will see those "fad games" that Wii non-believers have been looking down upon, getting ready to make that inevitable dash to the "real console". Oh, the irony.

I think the only games that PS3 owners are wanting to play would be the first party Nintendo ones, which are not gonna happen.

Really, what else is good if you are even a semi-hardcore gamer, let alone a hardcore one. I am open for suggestions.

well we will see about that when the time comes if they ever port stuff as ps3 requires good graphics or most of its gamers will complain

It seems like the first party games are the only good ones. Most of the Wiiware games suck. There are a few ok ones but most are trash.

Same as every fan of the series out there, I would like to see Monster Hunter returned to a decent console rather then the Wii. It would be a shame if they kept the lame motion controls though...

Madworld is the only other one besides Nintendo games that many of us wants to play.

Its not really ironic is it

The wii will still be crap and the games will still be the same.

Its not like people say that about the wii because they could only afford a ps3 'cause the wii is to expensive.

They say it because the wii is what it is.

Depressing. I've yet to see a Wii game I've actually enjoyed playing for more than 2 minutes. Even my Wii-owning friend only uses it now for the Virtual Console and is apparently buying a PS3 Slim cos she says she wants to play more 'real' games (actually I think she's developed a crush on Nathan Drake, the actual game character not me, while she's been playing Uncharted on my console).

Unlike Wii, we will only get good games. Why port over a trash game that every already knows about fro the Wii? Everybody will know how much the game sucks, so they won't buy it. Beisdes, Sony would be only interested in game that sold well, and mostly these are the good games. ( MadWorld is, sadly, an exeption here.)

you're probably correct :-p But sony could use the tech to have an on-screen personal trainer, like eyepet, but instead, a hot lady in a thong bikini/nude. That'll sell millions...
