Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has more or less confirmed that Wii owners outside Japan will also get to experience the newly-launched Wii video streaming service.

"Wii-no-Ma service is available only in Japan at the start, but the overseas deployment is under planning in the future," said Iwata. He also added that the service's original Japanese programming may be included in the service's international versions:

As Japanese videogames, anime or manga are very favoured all over the world, we also anticipate a great possibility of same spread for video programmes.

The Wii-no-Ma video streaming service is Nintendo's way of bringing even more people -- especially those who don't even want to play games on a Wii -- into the Wii fold.

Everyone else has video streaming, so Nintendo must follow the real leaders in game consoles.

For a machine that still can't even play a DVD without homebrew, who the hell cares about watching or listening to any media stored or streamed to the Wii?

The Wii has already established itself as an underpowered, overpriced toy, so why don't they just TRY to focus on some decent Wii games?

Great, I see lots of pokemon crap and other stupid kids anime getting streamed over here corrupting kids into "gotta catch em all" whores that blindly buy Nintendo products.
