Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said in a recent corporate interview that there are several first-party games coming to the Wii this year. According to Iwata, the first of these new games will be launched this summer.

"The reason why I said today that April, May and June sales of Wii will not reach last year's results but that the situation will change from summer this year was because the company has been preparing for several titles to be launched toward the end of this year that can drive the market," Iwata said.

Things will most likely kick off with Wii Sports Resort, which comes out in June in Japan. It's also the only Wii game listed in the Nintendo first-party release schedule we saw a while back. Nintendo's E3 appearance should give us a better idea of what Wii games we can expect.

Preparing several titles that will drive the market huh?

I guess he's referring to the casual market.

That's just what the Wii needs... more casual (aka crap) games. No wonder they're not saying what they are.
