It's early: Nintendo Channel now live in North America and Canada - Image 1Thanks to a tip from reader Tacos_4_Gir, we're letting you guys know that the Nintendo Channel is now available for US and Canada. That's a full five days before the channel was initially expected to arrive.

The Nintendo Channel will add several new functions to the Wii and DS consoles, such as the ability to scout for new game trailers, or to download patches and demos for the DS.

For the more opinionated players, there's also the ability to rate any Wii titles you've played for over an hour. The Nintendo Channel is available for download over at North America's site, via the source link below. Just be sure to clear some room in your Wii's SD card  - the channel will require 163 blocks of space.

What is this? Did the internet break? Why do we need Nintendo force feeding us our game info? lol

WTF!?!?!?!?!

That would be valid, if Nintendo was forcing you to use the channel. This is great news! I look forward to checking it out tonight! http://wii.qj.net/Get-fit-with-Wii-Fit-Miyamoto-on-the-health-gaming-phenomenon/pg/49/aid/119139/act/success

Wow, the official Nintendo Propoganda Channel!

There's a simple reason Nintendo force feeds their customers game info. It's evidenced in this MSNBC interview with NOA president Reggie Fils "Hisbuthole" Aime. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22104442/ [from the interview] "Why should consumers buy a Wii this holiday?" "In our view, the consumer should be making three purchases this holiday season. They should buy a DS, and take advantage of the long library of titles that we have. They ought to buy a Wii, and that%u2019s to take of the unique Wii remote, and they ought to buy the software for both of those systems. Everything from Guitar Hero for Wii to Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for DS to Super Mario Galaxy." Nintendo knows it has many customers like isoretard that seemingly enjoy any excuse to buy whatever crap Nintendo is trying to sell at the moment. The biggest Wii fans (the ones that use it more than monthly) will look to the channel to see what Nintendo wants them to buy next. However, intelligent owners would look to reputable sites not affiliated with Nintendo for upcoming gaming news (and also better games on real consoles.) "This is great news! I look forward to checking it out tonight!" You said it all, isoretard. I'm sure this will work out great to help Nintendo make money off less intelligent users. Also, check out this Qj topic where I repeatedly PWNED isoretard. http://wii.qj.net/Nintendo-about-holiday-shortage-and-games-for-core-gamers/pg/49/aid/109070

WTF!?!?!?!?!

"There's a simple reason Nintendo force feeds their customers game info. It's evidenced in this MSNBC interview with NOA president Reggie Fils "Hisbuthole" Aime." Actually, that wasn't evidence of anything. As usual you have no point. As for what you called Reggie, are you going to grow up any time soon? "Nintendo knows it has many customers like isoretard that seemingly enjoy any excuse to buy whatever crap Nintendo is trying to sell at the moment." Anyone can say the same thing about MS and Sony. As well as any other consumer based manufacture. Basically your comment here states that Nintendo knows is has customers that buy it's product. I sure hope you didn't spend too much time coming up with that one??? "However, intelligent owners would look to reputable sites not affiliated with Nintendo" So every single game company should pull ALL demo videos and demos because they come from the manufacture? I supposed Nintendo should pull its magazines off the shelf as should Sony and Microsoft because they all come from the originating manufacture? You are such an ignorant fool. "You said it all, isoretard. I'm sure this will work out great to help Nintendo make money off less intelligent users." Thanks for proving to us all once again how much of a douche bag you are. Also, check out this Qj topic where I repeatedly PWNED isoretard. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! That is hilarious. You actually think that? How sad. I suppose you think you won this one as well? http://wii.qj.net/No-PKE-meter-DS-support-for-the-Wii-version-of-Ghostbusters/pg/49/aid/119227

.

Wow that was quite a list of past topics. Which one are you refering to? It seems in most of them that you make a fool of yourself in the way you LOVE everything Nintendo.

...

Meh, this isn't that big of a deal...it's not like MS or Sony don't have their own ways of trying to boost sales. I downloaded it, checked it out for a minute, and went back to actual gaming. It's meant for casual gamers or gamers with no other means of being informed, those who don't apply to those categories can do fine without the channel should they choose not to download it.
