Could it be true? Could Paper Mario be headed to the virtual console? Well, that's what one magazine seems to state, though we're not entirely sure.
A new post on Go Nintendo has a scan from an unnamed magazine on it, with Paper Mario serving as the "Staff Pick" for the month. "In the hands of developer Intelligent Systems," the magazine writes, "the standard Bowser-kidnaps-Peach storyline came to life with engaging dialogue, surprising characters, and addictive gameplay."
We're not sure if its confirmed or if its just a suggested title that one magazine wants to see on the virtual console. So far, the ESRB still says Paper Mario is for the Nintendo 64, so we're going to have to put this in the rumor bin for now. Still, you can certainly say we share their sentiments for the game though.

this is from nintendo power. so it is probably true.
Considering Nintendo recently sent me a Survey concerning Super Paper Mario asking me whether I'd buy more Paper Mario games, it's safe to say this is probably going to happen...that and Paper Mario was a hot selling N64 title - wouldn't hurt Ninendo to profit from it once again...
Considering Paper Mario is particularly hard to get hold of outside of eBay, this is good news for me. I'd definitely like to see it on the VC, Along with:
Blast Corps
Mystic Quest Legend
Waverace 64
Turok
Plus some others I forget.
please giveme paper mario on virtual console!
I just went to see if i could still download the rom... ESA protected... Only happens on games that have been re-licensed... so it's obvious that Nintendo didn't just feel like doing this. I personally loved this game when I was younger... But I'm just 14 anyways:P.
this is terrible i thought that every n64 game/snes/nes game would already be available for download. Now its crazy news when paper mario gets released on the VC. crap
