The video game Samurai Slash has really come a long way, or at least it has in terms of changing its official name. The title somewhat sounds new because Koei just recently replaced the name Samurai Warriors Katana. Prior to that, it was known as Sengoku Musou Wave.
Regardless of its official title though, fans can expect to see a familiar gameplay and overall feel to the game as it is actually a spin-off of the long-running and successful franchise Dynasty Warriors. Players will be swinging the Wiimote as if it's a sword to defeat hordes of soldiers in order to restore peace and rescue the civilians.
Samurai Slash should have been released in Japan last December but it was ultimately delayed due to unspecified reasons. According to French gaming site Wiiz, it should be released on the said region come September 20, with the U.S. release coming soon after that. While waiting, just enjoy this new batch of screenshots.
