Ó

Optimistic... - Image 1Takaya Imamura, producer of Star Fox Command for the DS, has hinted that the Wii might be the next destination for the classic series. GamesRadar reports that in an interview with Nintendo of Europe, when asked if a Wii version of Star Fox was in the works Imamura responded:

I wonder how the adventure of Fox and friends is going to go next time?! I have come up with some idea in my mind but it is still just a small one. I will try my best so that I can deliver it to you some time!

So there you have it folks. Straight from the producer's mouth: reason for us to hold our breath and wait for Fox McCloud to head for our Wii's.

Given this bright possibility, some of us here at QJ are now wondering if working the piloting mechanism will involve the Wiimote's tilt-sensing. Of course, we do have to note that our speculation is just probably due to our inner ninty-fan-boy coercing us to get ahead of ourselves. But still, we're very much optimistic.

Oh, before we forget, if you happen to be a Club Nintendo member, and you wish to read the whole interview, you can get access it by clicking on our VIA link below.

Control Mechanics

Oh I can imagine a Star Fox game now. The control mechanics would be soo easy. How to pilot the Arwing II? Hold the nunchuck adapter as if it were the joystick of the Arwing. Tilt it back (towards your body) to make the Arwing go up, and Tilt it worward to make it go down (left and right still work respectably). The Z & C buttons could be used for brake and boost. On the Wiimote, you'll use the sensors for aiming (just like any other standard first person shooter on the Wii) and the B button to shoot. To make a make a barrel role, hold down the A button and turn the wiimote on either side (like you're turning a door knob), and to to make a 180 degree turn in the sky...I haven't thought of that yet. You like my idea?

Hmm that loop idea sounds fine, but that 2 player co-op mode sounds a lot like Double Dash. I'm not saying that there's something wrong with that, but if two people were to control one spacecraft, I'd expect the game to be very challenging for both the pilot and the gunman (if not, then it will be quite boring for the two). Your co-op sounds fine, but I do hope that they do a few more things: 1. Have a 2 player option for the adventure mode of the game. 2. Like the DS game, have a Dogfight that can support up to 8 players at a time (and possibly have massive tournaments). Teams of 1-4. Just imagine: Only the #1 winners from 8 player Dogfight will advance (but when it's 4-on-4 the first team that gets knocked out looses, and the other four advance, even if the comrades got knocked out during the fight)! That would be awesome!! 3. Maybe a headset would be great to communicate amung your team mates....but you can't communicate with your opponents...that might get annoying/nasty/offensive -BGS

Star Fox Tech

In the next Star fox game they sould make it so you can use the G - Defusers and change view in the Arwing and Landmaster.
