Sitting pretty on top of the console buzz worldIGN's been watching the hype for upcoming games rather closely, it seems. They've up-and-posted their  most wanted list (dubbed as the "Lust List") of games set to be released after October 30. The list shows which games for consoles and PCs they've been tracking have been generating the most pre-release buzz. In other words, which game everyone's calling the "Next Big Thing."

And topping the console pre-release buzz list is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. Even Halo 3 and Gears of War for the Xbox 360, as well as fellow Wii launchmate Red Steel must remain content with 2nd, 3rd, and 8th place, respectively. IGN chalks it up to Zelda being a Ninty staple. Could also be the game showing off all it could do with the Wiimote. "It is, without doubt, the must-have game for all Wii enthusiasts." Of course, that's IGN's opinion, but then, it's a well-informed one from where we're sitting.

Other next-gen games on the hot list are WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2007 (#6 for the Xbox 360 version), Call of Duty 3 (for the 360, but it's also multiplatform, remember? #7), and F.E.A.R. (360, #10).

Sitting pretty on top of the PC buzz worldOver across the gaming world, where the keyboard and mouse reign supreme, it's Atari's Neverwinter Nights 2 that sits on top of the charts. And this is considering that the Neverwinter franchise has traded hands from BioWare to Obsidian Entertainment, but IGN says that the new management has managed "not to let the franchise down." At #2 is Sega's Medieval II: Total War, while Electronic Arts takes the next three positions with Spore, Crysis, and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.

And those that didn't crack the top 5? From #6 to #10: the Blizzard expansion World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Supreme Commander, Need for Speed Carbon (for the PC, even if it's multiplatform), Namco Bandai's Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, and The Lord of the Rings II: The Rise of the Witch-King expansion from EA. (All results based upon IGN's visitor and viewing behavior statistics).

The top 10 is made up of 3 Wii games, 5 X360 games and 2 PS2 games, seems like a sign of things to come.

My top 5 most wanted in order of estimated release:

Oblivion (Yeh, I know its out, but I can't play it yet)

Zelda:TP

Excite Truck

Bioshock

Spore

What are the QJ readers most wanted? I know theres more positive support for PS3 here than most other sites

Gears of War, Call of Duty 3, Rainbow Six: Vegas (all around same date of release)

Zelda

ES4: Knights of the Nine (no joke)

Bioshock

Halo 3

Couldn't think of any others, too tired

Some PS3 games look awesome, like Resistance and Warhawk, but sadly I won't be getting a PS3.

They have been doing this for the past three weeks and a PS 3 game has yet to come up. If this is a trend don't expect the PS 3 to come out on top this gen.

I was surprised to see NWN2 on top of the PC list... And then I realized: There isn't **** coming out for PC that's worth a second look. WTF? They've been predicting the death of PC Gaming... But I didn't believe them... Starting to wonder now.

Not that NWN 2 is a BAD game... It just doesn't compare to the console games. Spore is the next PC game that I care about. So sad.
