IGN Gives Vague Hints

SamusIn IGN's "Wii-k in Review" podcast, the editors had a few interesting tidbits. The things they said were vague, and deliberately so. The hints they were dropping were things they knew, but couldn't talk about. We'll go over them for you.
  • A GCN title that was previously for the GCN will be announced as a Wii title instead at the Games Convention.
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption may not see a launch day release, but should be there in the launch window.
  • Dragon Quest Swords might not make Wii launch, but Excite Truck will.
  • LucasArts was not working on a lightsabre game before, but they are now.
The GCN title is likely either Super Paper Mario or the Kirby title that's been talked about for ages. Since Kirby seems to have the unfortunate job of being one of the last games for Nintendo's consoles, we'd say Super Paper Mario is the more likely choice. Especially considering it came completely out of nowhere at E3.

We wouldn't be surprised with a Metroid Prime 3 delay. We also wouldn't be too sad since trying to choose between Zelda and Metroid at launch would be pretty darn hard. As long as it hits retail soon after we beat Zelda, we're fine. It was obvious LucasArts would eventually make a lightsabre game, and it looks like they're finally going through with it now. Maybe it was the positive reaction at E3 that finally pushed them over the edge?

Why would you have to choose between Metroid and Zelda on release day! ;) And you call yourselves Wii fans! - ha

I will be there with at the midnight release (I'm sure they're gonna do some), credit card in hand, collecting Wii, Metroid, Zelda, Mario Galaxy (If it's gonna be out then) and possibly others.

You would think at 35 I'm over this gaming fad, huh? :)

I was going to buy both, but then I get home and I can only play one at a time ;_; I'll buy Zelda, Metroid (if available) and some kind of multiplayer game (WarioWare?) to start out ^_^

# Wow, I'm surprised you haven't thought of this title.Guest 2006-08-14 02:56
Guys, what about Homeland? Remember? That First Party MMO? Considering we haven't heard much about it, and the fact that it still hasn't been announced as cancelled, I have a strong feeling that it will be Homeland that makes the jump from the Cube to the Wii.
