Here comes a new challenger: Lucas joins Super Smash Bros. Brawl |
Ó
Just when you thought the roster was impressive enough, with old characters and new already littering the selection screen, Nintendo pulls out another brawler to join the roster of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Lucas from the Japan-exclusive MOTHER 3 (a.k.a. the Earthbound series in North America) makes his way to the growing list of fighters in this update from the people over at official website Smash Bros. DOJO.
If you were able to play the Earthbound series, you'll recognize Lucas as the "successor" of Ness from the previous Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Nintendo GameCube. Similar to Ness, Lucas has a wide array of psychic powers at his disposal and looks like he can hold off his own despite his timid appearance.
Considering that the Franklin badge was already featured as one of the in-game items, it was inevitable that they would include Lucas as one of the playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Lucas was actually slated to appear in Melee, but due to delays in the release of MOTHER 3, his debut unfortunately was delayed and Nintendo had to settle for reprising Ness' role as the token ESPer in the game.
However, with the advent of Brawl, we can all welcome this new character with open arms as we wait and see what he has in store against his fellow combatants when the game finally hits shelves this October.

This OCTOBER?!?
The Game is going to be released on DECEMBER.
...does this mean that Ness isn't going to be on this one!?!? I hope he also appears on Brawl.
Only Nintendo would put a little fa ggot like that in a fighting game.
Mister why bother posting in the Nintendo related areas? I'm sure nobody even takes you seriously. I don't take any of the posting serious really.
