Children of Bodom - Image 1Guitar Hero and Rock Band too softcore for you? Apparently it was for some people...

Indevent USA and EBT3 Creations have launched a new multimedia company under the name of Reign Productions. The new company will be headed by Bruce Teal and Peter Scheithauer (Temple of Brutality, Killing Machine). Their first project will be to make a music game featuring nothing but metal music.

The game appears to be rather ambitious, with a budget reported to be in the millions of dollars. They will have soundtracks and performances from major metal artists.

More details on the game will follow at the 2009 winter NAMM convention in Anaheim, California.

Besides the video game itself, Reign Productions has announced that they'll be forming a metal "supergroup," who I can only suspect will use the game as their launching pad. Not great news for me, since it may mean that the game will see less classic good Metal music like Led Zeppelin or Metallica, and more, possibly terrible, never-before-heard, Metalcore tracks.

Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Rock on, guys. m/

» hmm.

I love most types of metal, but I gotta see this before I make any further comments. I agree though. I don't want to see any of that poser mainstream metal...How about some good stuff? Underground metal is great but not horrific stuff. Refer to Visions from Rock Band 2... >_>

» Honestly

Just give me more metal in RB2. RB2 is the king of music games - why bother making a competiting product which will most likely fail?
