Haro Discusses Hudson Wii Titles and Virtual Console

Morgan Haro, Marketing Assistant at Hudson, gave some information about their Wii plans in a recent interview. They had two titles for show at Nintendo's booth at E3 and both are in the early stages of development. The chances of Bomberman Land and Flight Game (tentative title) being launched at the same time as the Wii don't look good, so they'll likely be released in 2007.

Flight Game will apparently be similar to Nintendo's flight demo, but have many more features. One such feature is the ability to control multiple planes at once. The focus of the game will be on aerobatics and using the controller to pilot the planes. Will it be a Pilotwings title though? "I can't say it is and I can't say it isn't," says Haro.

Bomberman Land is coming out for the Wii as well. It will, like its DS brother, feature a great multiplayer mode but the team is focusing on the single-player mode right now. The story revolves around Bomberman, who's trapped in an amusement park, using his powers to break out. You'll be using the WiiMote to control Bomberman, fight, and solve puzzles. Whether or not the game features WiFi play has yet to be decided. DS-Wii connectivity is also yet to be determined.

One of Hudson's most known series is Mario Party. When asked about a Wii version, Haro said that nothing was in the works at the moment but he had no doubts that if Nintendo were to make one (and believe me, they will), they'd ask Hudson. It's popular among the female and family markets, which are very important ones for Nintendo.

The Virtual Console will be featuring games from Hudson's TurboGrafx system. Hudson says that it was a mutual decision between Nintendo and them. Haro wasn't aware of how many third party games would be available, but a sizeable chunk of the games were first party so there should be a good supply. Price? He says that he would expect TurboGrafx games to go for a dollar or two, but no pricing has been set.
