Guitarfun - Wiibrew - Wii homebrew news and downloads - Image 1You've probably heard of Frets on Fire or Guitarfun. They're open-source Guitar Hero clones for the PC where you use the keyboard as your "guitar" peripheral. Hermes, author of Guitarfun for the PC, decided to do something awesome and translated the game on to the Wii.

The best thing about the translation to the Nintendo platform is that you can use a variety of peripherals as your guitar, including a USB keyboard, your Wiimote, or even the guitar peripheral from Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock.

To play Guitarfun, you'll need Frets on Fire song packs which are easily downloaded from other sources. You can follow this link for a headstart. For a detailed explanation on how the Wiibrew game plays, please read the documentation included in the download file below, which includes installation instructions as well as controls.

gfx aside(the could do some work) the game is still fun to play. And works well with the songs. Hope they can imporve it. Anyone needing songs go to the FretsofFire forums sign up and theres a section for songs that have been made to work with this.

Now a standard in my homebrew channel.

All works fine, only issue I had was that it doesn't handle multiple buttons being pressed at the same time like GH3 does. It even supports the wammy bar.
