Guitar Hero World Tour details: drums, online mode, more |
Ó
The curtains have finally been opened for Guitar Hero World Tour, the latest entry in the hugely popular Guitar Hero rhythm game franchise. Yep, apparently that's the official name of Guitar Hero 4.We already gave you guys a bit of a lowdown on the game, and today we have a few more new details on what World Tour will be packing.
Now, you know about the new drums peripheral, right? The game drum's peripheral will have three pads, two raised cymbals, and a bass pedal. They'll also be velocity sensitive and will reportedly be quieter compared to Rock Band's.
World Tour's online features will allow up to four players to take on another group of four in the Battle of the Bands mode. Of course, chances are this feature will most probably be restricted to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
There' s also supposed to be a special Jam Over mode that lets players "jam over" the tracks included in the game. An interesting idea, but according to Eurogamer, word from Activision is that this feature has been dropped "for now".
Guitar Hero World Tour will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Wii later this year. If you haven't seen the World Tour video yet, you can check it out here.

Actually the drums are going to have FOUR lower drums, not three like this article states. In the newest issue of Game Informer they talk with the guitar hero programers and they say there will actually will be FOUR lower drums, not three lower drums like in the pictures being circulated. The change was made to add more realism to the drum set....also every drum set will be wireless so you don't have wires running everywhere like the rock band drum set...I CANT WAIT!!
I'll buy the game disc used if it has a good enough track-list. But it's BIG NEGATORY on buying any more peripherals. 3 guitars, one RB drumset, and a mic is too much already.
sooo its a drum set for GH... and this is news why
its news b/c its the drum set for the new GH4 world tour thats coming out and previously GH has only been about the guitar you dumb a$$, see thats why they call information that is new to people "news". And why they call people that can't figure out the simplest things in life dumba$$'s....dumba$$.
Too bad this is really old news right?
Not buying this personally, like mentioned above, I have way too many peripherals as it is. Will get the game disk for the guitar tracks perhaps.
Activision, Does the name ring a bell GUITAR Hero!
post to be GUITARS and not DRUMS etc.
Bad *****ing move Activision, bad move.
It'd be nice if the new GH drum set is also compatible with rock band the way the GH guitars work with rock band. Then myself and everyone else could all get rid of our rock band drum set and have one set that works with rock band and GH. otherwise like skidz and nevers say above, almost everyone already has too many accersories to go out and want to get more.
