Updates on Guitar Hero: Metallica have been few and far between. Ever since it was announced back in June, we haven't heard much about it. So, surprise, surprise! Look what someone's discovered in Guitar Hero: World Tour?

Someone who managed to get his hands on an early copy of GH: World Tour found a teaser trailer for Guitar Hero: Metallica in the video section of the Career menu. The guy who posted the video on YouTube didn't seem to indicate if he had to do anything to unlock the video, or if it was already there to begin with. Lookee, lookee:

Activision's Guitar Hero: World Tour is to be released for the Xbox 360, PS2, PlayStation 3, and Wii come October 26.

Why not just release the tracks as DLC? Oh Wait, this is Activision, they will squeeze this franchise to death.

Such a cash-in

Though I'm looking forward to the art style. The venues would range from small sleazy San Fransisco gigs to massive stadium shows. The trailer itself takes from the Ride the Lightning cover art. And if there is any music on the disc that isn't Metallica it'll most likely be stuff from the bands they covered on Garage Inc. and Garage Days Revisited. The only thing I'm feeling sketchy about is who they'll use as a bassist in the backgrounds. Will they have a Cliff model for pre-Puppets songs and a Jason model for songs up to St. Anger? Or will it all just be Rob... Although he's pretty cool I think he'd look dumb as a goofy GH character. All in all, it's pretty much guaranteed to be better than Aerosmith... At least difficulty-wise.
