Guitar Hero III's Les Paul controller photos lookin' good |
Ó
When the concept behind Guitar Hero was first revealed, there were many skeptics as to how such a game would perform in a highly-competitive market of games driven by gory graphics for the most part. The skeptics eventually turned into believers as the game spawned a franchise that rocked the gaming world across the platforms.
Guitar Hero III is the latest installment in the series and is anticipated by fans of the next-generation Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii game consoles. One of the key drawing points of the title is the realism brought by the guitar controller which made the experience even more fulfilling for casual gamers and frustrated rock gods alike. Activision decided to capitalize on that by earmarking the Les Paul guitar controller for development.
These are some of the early images from IGN of the Les Paul controller. They were able to get their hands on the 360 version of the controller, but they say the same layout will be used in the PS3 version. As you can see, it's still a very fashionable-looking virtual instrument and is identical in scale to real six-strings. Have a look and tell us what you think:

They allowed one manufacturer to make wireless controllers so now they will have to allow all manufactures to use their protocol as well or get sued. As you can see from the pictures, the guitar he is holding is wireless and has an Xbox button on it. If they release this controller, MS will have no choice but to allow other third party wireless controllers.
So just because they allow one person to make a 3rd party wireless controller they have to allow all comers... or get sued? Is there some law that allows other companies to go "that's not fair" and cry and scream because MS is only playing nice with Red Octane? I'm sure MS was very involved with the controller and isn't letting their protocol out still.
What will I do with my two old guitar hero controllers? Must I limit them to the first two games?!?
what about the wii? i wonder what kind of controller it will have...
wii sucks, so who cares?
This Guitar Hero game is gonna suck on Wii because graphics are everything to this game hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Since when is Guitar Hero a game of beauty?! The graphics in the original two are not that good. The Wii will definitely pull off those graphics. But seriously, Guitar Hero is about the mode of play and songs, the graphics don't affect it that much.
if you want next gen gfx play any ps3 game
I was expecting a little more, like a nice sunburst faceplate. Guess I'll have to do that myself :) Looking forward to this since I've never bought the game before but played it else where.
There is a law saying that they can't do that. If they provide services to one brand, they have to provide the same service to other brands as well. These kinds of actions are the reason MS was sued over windows.
If anything this just looks like a guitar rather than the old metal style guitars they were using before. The whammy bar has to be closer to the strings, a les paul (from what I've seen) has a whammy bar in the same place as the end of the string. It also looks like too flat, one of the things that make a less paul appeal is it's curve on the surface. And why is there 2 buttons that are suppose to be where the humbucker is? Take off that one button and put it down with the other buttons cause Les Paul 4 volume/tone buttons, not 2. Now what I just described would make it resemble a les paul, not just some guitar.
u arr damn right bro. B/
and where the hell is the extra color scheme that they were talking about? this is bull*****, why make a new guitar when its the same as the other guitar For their own sake its good that you can use the old guitar, if that wasnt possible no one would buy it.
It needs to be red and yellow. Like a real les paul
I think he was joking--
you can put your own skins on the guitar FFS.They will also come with some skins, making it customizable.READ Ign,Gamespot, etc. before you complain.
I would love it if they were to have flush buttons (these are quite raised,) with leaf switches, as opposed to the current clacky buttons they use. (more like playing a scalloped neck with light guage strings... IE SPEED!!!) As they currently have the buttons, It makes the guitar quite noisy, and tiring when doing stretched chords on the harder settings.. A great concept, and I LOVE GHII, I just hope they take the controller to the next level for GHIII
Yeah I think i'm really gunna have a hard time with choosing between the wireless rock band controller or the GHIII... The GH one looks almost the same nothing very innovative except for wireless, but with the Rock band if you haven't see The buttons are actually part of the arm of the guitar and have the same face color instead looking down you can see the color but face on no plus the exta Five buttons on the lower end of the arm i wonder if they will finally do something with those in the game play. Might be better to go with Rock band being that the two should wrk either way. Only time will tell
