Guilty Gear: Accent Core - Image 1

Aside from the Force Break attacks that we've previously reported on, ARC System Work's Guilty Gear: Accent Core for the Wii has several new gameplay additions to the franchise.

IGN reports that now, when you select your character, you can also select a battle system from previous Guilty Gear titles. It wasn't made clear as to how mixing systems from previous installments will affect gameplay balance, but it does sound intriguing.

As for the controls, IGN confirms that there will be support for the Classic Controller, so all you purists will be able to relax a bit. For those of you willing to experiment, shaking the Wiimote and Nunchuck performs standard attacks, while shaking in a certain manner while holding the buttons performs special attacks.

The Guilty Gear franchise is known for continuing the 2D fighting tradition in this 3D fighting game era, by implementing crisp animations, having a killer heavy metal soundtrack, and including a robust and intricate combat system. It will be interesting to see what motion sensing via the Wiimote will contribute to the massively popular franchise.

My personal favorite game of all time.

But this just shows IGN's lack luster quality as Guilty Gear has always allowed you to use older battle systems. Been playing for 5 years, a game that takes a lifetime to truly master.
