Godfather 2 for the Wii being developed already? - Image 1Electronic Arts' The Godfather: Blackhand Edition on the Wii and The Godfather: The Don's Edition for the PlayStation 3 was just recently released and it seems as though a sequel is already in the making. Nollenberger Capital Partners (NCP) put together a financial analysis on EA and certain revelations about the company came up.

The biggest one, is the fact that Godfather 2 is already in development. This came out in NCP's analysis which found that the company is actually using the development of the first game as a starting point in five different franchises.

Interestingly, we learned that EA is leveraging the significant amount of development time and costs that went into The Godfather game. The open-world engine was built from the ground up for Godfather, and is now being used by five different franchises, including The Simpsons. Godfather 2 is also in development currently, though timing is unknown.

Executive producer David DeMartini from EA has previously given word on BBC that the game would be a trilogy and it looks like they're following through with this statement. Gamers should watch out since the sequel might be arriving sooner than anyone (not in EA) expected. We'll bring more on this as new information comes up.
