Sweet, sweet freedom! It looks like Wii lovers hoping to do even more with their new console can rest easy, knowing that someone's on the case. Why? Because we just got word that Datel is working on a Nintendo Wii version of their Freeloader software.

An article on Spong mentions that the company is already working on the new software for Wii consoles. This Wii Freeloader should allow UK Wii owners to play US titles and hopefully vice-versa. While there's no date of availability or price yet, we're rooting for them and hope that  they finish it soon.

As most of you might notice on your own handheld devices, Datel is responsible for a lot of the add-ons we've been using in consoles today. They make the Action Replay cheat devices, and have developed a host of third-party devices for use with Nintendo gadgets, such as a wireless router for the Wii and DS and a "save and transfer" memory card for the Wii. Hopefully, they'll be speeding up their research and development facility so we can all enjoy some region-free goodness soon.
