A new patch is out for GeeXboX, a popular Linux-based media player for the Wii from developer farter. Now on version 0.1alpha2, the program has several refinements to its code, including improvements made to the Wiimote controls and connection.

Be sure to read the documentation included in the download archive for more details. Here's the changelog for version 0.1alpha2:
  • Simplified wiimote connection and reconnection
  • Auto-repeat wiimote commands when buttons are held down
  • Kernel patch update
  • Update to MPlayer svn snapshot 20080806.
