The Nintendo Wii homebrew scene is definitely opening up, and in this update of Geckoloader, it's about to open wider. This native Wii application will helps you load and execute Wii homebrew binaries in a quick and easy way - that is, if you satisfy certain requirements.

Wii homebrew developer dhewg says that you'll need a usbgecko adapter, a gamecube pad, and a way to boot wii homebrew to make the application fully functional. If you've got the pieces to the puzzle, then this is definitely a good thing for Wii homebrew newbies, and an even better thing for those of us who want to try out homebrew in a jiffy.

But without them, you're bound to find little else nifty about this application. Why? Well, it's mostly aimed for developers going rapid development mode on the Nintendo Wii, and they're sure to have the required hardware and tools in hand to make the software work.

Here's what's new with Geckoloader:

v0.0.2b
  • fixed a timing issue in the usbgecko flash code.
  • the included client now works on osx
  • added an extra check for malformed .dol files
  • included a tiny test application
As always, please check the necessary reading material provided though the Via link below for instructions on requirements, installation and usage if you're new to this. Otherwise, enjoy, and enjoy your Wii homebrew.
