The Confirmation ScanRawmeatCowboy from GoNintendo went on a trip to the mall to see if he can confirm anything regarding Wii pre-orders. Well, according to him, itÂ’s 100% official that both EBGames and GameStop will be taking Wii reserves starting Friday, October 13.

Those of you who suffer from triskaidekaphobia might want to hold off for one day before you start making those pre-orders (you know, just in case you donÂ’t want anything "spooky" happening to your shipment). Anyway, click the thumbnail to the right to get a better view of the shot that RawmeatCowboy made of the confirmation email.

For those of you who feel a bit too lazy to load that image on the right, here's a snippet of the pertinent paragraph in that email:

"Finally, we need to be consistent with our store opening times in order to insure that all customers are given a fair opportunity to line up and reserve their system. All stores will open at their NORMAL opening time on Friday, 10-13-06, for their Wii reservation customers."

Don't bother.

Guys, PLEASE do not bother to pre-order a Wii. Nintendo has got you covered, trust me. They're due to ship millions of units by the end of the year - YOU WILL GET A WII THIS SEASON, TRUST ME.

gamestop.

I plan on getting a NEW Wii so i'll just buy it at wal-mart. Gamestop plays the new games and sells them as new.

Woot

I'm gonna head there on Saturday, you know, to avoid that long line of people going "El oh el!"
by jaydogg691 - 2006-10-12 16:32:12
Cool, but . . .

I don't think it's necessary to pre-order the Wii. Nintendo plans to ship 1 million at launch, so I think thats enough and definitely more than 400,000. So that means there is no point to camp out for a pre-order again.

ugh...

i know what you mean. its as if people have lost the ability to express laughter so they use an internet acronym.
by - 2006-10-12 18:00:19
um

so if you pre order it for 50 bucks. does that mean you have to pay the full 250 on launch? or do they take the 50 bucks off =|
by tinglemaps - 2006-10-12 18:06:30

I was about to say...

It looks like Nintendo has us covered -- they're shipping millions by the end of the year; we're all going to get one. Wal-mart's as good a place as any. :)

I'll keep you posted

I'm going to the gamestop across the street at 9:55 to preorder the wii. I'll let you guys know if there is any kind of chaos or lack there of preorders. They're expecting a large turn out so it should be fun.

Thanks Minnull

Please, has anyone gone yet? How many Wii units are supposed to be availible? How many are for empoyees this time. The memo i read said if there was 12 customers in line and 12 units, those customers have "dibs". Yea right, like those GS employees will really pass up their own preorders to give them to customers..... I'm going to wait in line too, but not as long as I did for PS3. Hoping there isnt more people there cuz its cheaper and now they had a chance to hear about it with the ps3 fiasco the other day. Oh well Ill get mine hopfully in a little while. Ill keep yall posted and plz do the same!

Lucky me...

I went to my EBgames about a quarter to 10am and was not expecting there to be a line...but there was. So I hurried up and rushed over to it only to be told that the store had 14 pre-orderes and that I was number 15. Ha. They said I was welcome to stay and see if anything pops up so for some odd reason, I did. Turns out the lady inside "stole" one reserve ticket from an EBgames the next town over which meant I got to reserve one!! I was so close to leaving too...good thing I stayed. I ended up pre-ordering the system and Red Steel.

The Wii will be mine

Hey everyone I arrived at Gamestop at 8:00am this morning. They open at 10:00am. I was number 9 out of 16 available sales. I also picked up another Wii remote and nunchuck. I already preordered Red Steel and Zelda TP a couple weeks back.

PreOrder

I was 5th on line today for the Wii an hour before the store opened. They had 9 units after the employees took their share. As for the PS3, I was 9th on line with 13 avialable. Since it was a rather cold day today, I wasn't sure if I should have preordered the Wii since so many units are said to be coming out at launch. So I said if there were more than six people on line I wouldn't. Guess it was meant to be.
by - 2006-10-13 14:39:53
so close

i was sixth in line. there were other 5 people waiting from six. i came in at arround seven thirty. this was my first camp out, a very short one but fun. many people looked at us and told us why we were in line. we just told them job interviews so they would go away. people started making line at the last moment but only 8 of us got in. Zouch!! ill be playing zelda, wii sports and red steel this november 19 guaranteed.

Something Fishy

I was 5th in line and a friend was 2nd. On the sheet with names I was 26, while my friend was 22. And some guy that was 3rd in line somehow got his name next 1. Something shady is going on or hopefully that queue sheet doesn't matter.
