Games get some flair: Lloyd-Webber to create games

Lloyd-Webber Moves to Games - Image 1Celebrated composer Andrew Lloyd-Webber is looking to make new singalong karaoke games based on his productions, like Phantom of the Opera and Evita.

Weird, yeah? But with SingStar, Rock Band, and Guitar Hero being the successes that they are, this only feels like the natural next step.

The games are planned to have an "audition" type gameplay that allows gamers to sing as characters from Lloyd-Webber's musicals. Sounds like it's going to be like SingStar, only with Lloyd-Webber songs in its library.

Recently, analysts kept going on about music games declining in popularity. But Lloyd-Webber's Really Useful Group, an umbrella company involved in movies, theater productions, and general media, says that there's no better time to enter into the gaming business:

With the video gaming audience having moved from its male-dominated roots towards a more family-oriented demographic, now is the perfect time for us to take some of the best-known names in musical entertainment in a more interactive direction.
