MegaTen BoxLuv2Game, the official website for Hardcore Gamer Magazine, interviewed Kazuma Kaneko, the lead designer and artist for Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei video game series. When asked what systems the next MegaTen game would be on, Kaneko said that he'd really like to make a MegaTen game for the Wii.

He also divulged how would a Wii MegaTen game be like. According to him, "Well, if you play Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga, they're typical modern RPGs. You see your characters act from a third-person view. But as you and your readers probably know, the original MegaTen games used a completely different first-person viewpoint. I would love to go back to basics with MegaTen on the Wii and bring back the first-person perspective, while using the  controller to let players experience their environments directly."

Awesome news! MegaTen has gained a very loyal following and we're sure that this news will perk up their ears. Since Nintendo is much more relaxed about censorship, this wouldn't be hard to localize like it would have been ten years ago. It's a series that filled with content that people like Jack Thompson would be just itching to use as a way of getting more attention. It's not your average JRPG. So MegaTen fans, just stay tuned here at QJ for your daily dose of game updates.

» no thanks on a wii version

the ps3 version is all we need. With ps3 blu-ray you could hold a lot more monsters, levels, enviorments, stories, ect. The wii is only using dvd lol.

Also, the graphix on the wii are less than desirable. For the art to really shine, we need it be on ps3.

As for controlling things with the wii controller? well you can pretty much do that with ps3's motion controller. It's not as versitle as wii's but it's a step up from the dual shock 2.

As a huge fan on shin megami tensei, I would be deeply saddened to see the main games go on an inferior console. If anything, just give the wii some spin-offs or mini--games lol.

» "relaxed about censorship..."

i almost agree with the above. Cxpt blue-ray wont make much of a difference for a megaten game. The truth is nintendo isn't going to change their stance on mature level games THAT MUCH. Look at what red steel could acheive if it could simulate gore. but whatever, either or is good for us.

» well..

yeah i love the shin megami series, i feel it would be far too mature for nintendo. I mean nocturne dealt with the varying levels of hell and the evil overlord in this game isn't necessarily the bad guy (depends how you play) i mean practically all femal demons in the game are naked and some of the male demons are pretty visually well endowed. Basically it's a pretty *****ed up game, also its something you play for such a long period of time that i wouldn't want to be using the wii controller for it.

Yah, an 30-50-up hours rpg game with an wii controller would be hell. It might be really tiresome, but who knows. I agree with the post above, except that I believe the Wii has enough power to make the game look good. I meant even on the PS2 it looked awesome, and the Wii is like an xbox 1.5 in graphics term.

Anyway, if this game is different from the PS3, I will be getting both. Yay no love for the 360!
